Prolonging the Lifespan of your Extensions

The lifespan of hair extensions depends on the aftercare it receives. One cannot guarantee an exact lifespan on any kind of extensions due to it being a natural consumable product. However if you follow our care instructions, you will have long lasting hair extensions.

We don't recommend any silver shampoos other than our Sheek Hair Blonde Me Shampoo as other brands may dry out the hair and effect the lifespan of your hair extensions. We also don't recommend using any permanent colour on your hair extensions. Any colouring is done entirely at your own risk. Lighter shades may have shorter lifespan due to the colour treatments performed, and will require extra treatments and less heat application to prolong the lifespan.

Wash your hair with Sheek Hair Sulphate Free Shampoo or Sheek Hair Extensions Blonde Me Shampoo no more than twice a week. Sleep on a satin pillow case.

Take care of your hair extensions as you would your natural hair and remember that just like your own hair your extensions can too get damaged with excesive heat and misuse of hair products.

Tape in & Nano Ring Hair Extensions

Washing Your Hair

Brush your hair with your extensions brush from root to tip before wetting your hair.

Wash your hair with Sheek Hair Sulphate Free Shampoo or Sheek Hair Extensions Blonde Me Shampoo no more than twice a week.

Wash in a downwards motion letting the water flow from root to your extensions. Gently massage the scalp ensuring that you reach under every ring/ tape.

Your mask needs to hydrate and add moisture to your extensions and should only be applied from the neck area down. if applied to roots it may cause your extensions to slip out.

DO NOT rub your hair with a towel as this will cause friction damage. Gently press the towel against your hair, section your hair down the nape of your neck and add two pumps of leave in conditioner into the hair in downwards motion from neck to ends (not by the rings/ tapes).

Using a wet brush gently brush your hair from ends top. IMPORTANT Your extensions can stretch up to 30% its length when wet, so take extra care when Brushing wet hair.

Only use Sheek Hair Extensions approved products on your hair extensions. We have formulated our own hair care series which includes a shampoo, silver shampoo a mask, heat protecting spray, leave in conditioner and an oil for use with hair extensions that is free of sulphates, parabens and ammonia. Nourishing your hair extensions while maintaining the beauty of your natural hair.

Drying and Styling Your Hair Extensions

You should brush your hair throughout the day to avoid natural knotting.

We strongly recommend using heat protection spray before styling your hair extension to prevent them from damaging. Your heat tools shouldnt be higher than 180*, this is to prevent any water in the cuticles from boiling and forming blisters on the hair shaft

Keep in mind that it could become very easy to over product your hair extension and this is when they become dryer and start  matting and even start breaking.

Hair extensions are not a wash-and-go lifestyle.

You need to heat style them for the sleek and soft finish.

Bedtime With Your Hair Extensions

Extensions should be brushed out starting from ends to the scalp and 100% dry, especially at the bonds before gong to bed.

Never sleep with wet extensions as this will cause matting.

Put your hair in a top bun or loose braid before hitting the sack.

Sleep on a satin/silk pillow case.
